Deya Bhutan Tours was started by Bhutanese guides. Our office is in Changedaphu, Thimphu, and everyone who plans, guides and drives your trip was born in this country. When you write to us, you are talking to the company that runs your tour on the ground, not an agent abroad who passes your booking on.
That matters more in Bhutan than almost anywhere. Hotels, guides, permits and Paro flights all run through local relationships. When a road closes or a flight moves, we are the people who fix it.

We send an itinerary with named hotels and one price that already includes the SDF, visa, guide, car and meals.
We do the paperwork
Once you confirm, we file the visa, pay the SDF to the government and hold your Drukair or Bhutan Airlines seats.
Meet your guide in Paro
Your guide and driver wait at arrivals and stay with you until you fly out. Our office in Thimphu is on call the whole time.
Who you will deal with
The people behind your trip
Deya is a small company, and that is deliberate. Damber Gurung is our Managing Director and Tika Devi Pradhan our Chief Executive Officer. Reeta Moktan runs operations and Kamal Pokhrel looks after finance. Guides such as Dawa Yuden and Ramesh Dhimal, and drivers such as Phub Dorji, work with us trip after trip, so they know how we like things done.
A small team means the person who answers your first email also knows your hotel bookings, your flight times and the fact that your mother does not like steep stairs. Guests notice. In their reviews they mention names more often than sights.

Our promises
What we promise every guest
Honest advice, even when it costs us a booking
If five nights is too short for what you want, we will say so. If July is the wrong month for your trek, we will suggest another. A guest who comes back happy is worth more to us than a rushed sale.
Your money goes where we say it goes
The SDF and visa fee go to the government and appear as separate lines on your quote. Government refunds of the SDF, where they apply, are passed back to you in full, minus only bank charges.
Someone is always on call
Your guide carries a phone and our Thimphu office stays reachable while you are in the country. In an emergency we arrange medical care and, if needed, evacuation.
Respect for Bhutan
We brief guests on dress and etiquette, keep group sizes small and avoid places that ask not to be visited. It is our home, and we want it to stay the way you found it.
